Get personal targets, add what you eat, and learn from what you see. Most of the learning happens in the first few weeks.
Nutrition by Nutriely is an app that teaches you nutrition using your own food. It shows you which nutrients you are getting, which ones you keep missing, what they do for you and which foods can help. It is based on widely accepted nutrition recommendations, so you can learn if your diet supports your long-term health. All you need to do is add what you eat. Learn more about our philosophy here.
To provide you with the most complete nutritional data we use a combination of available data, such as USDA, Fineli, as well as our own proprietary data algorithms. We are also contributing to an Open Food Facts project which aims to grow a collaborative food database that would be available to everyone without additional cost. Read more in our Data Sources article.
Nutriely helps you understand your nutrition. Every food is broken down into ingredients, so you see every vitamin, mineral and more, and exactly where each one comes from. Every nutrient has an explanation of what it does and which foods have it, short guides walk you through your first steps, and insights point out the foods and meals that stand out. After a few weeks, weekly and monthly views show you the real patterns in your diet.
Adding food is quick: search with your favorites and recent foods on top, scan a barcode, or take a photo of a food package or a plate. You can also create recipes and share foods, recipes and meals with friends or family. See the full list of features here.
We believe our philosophy is what makes us different.
Download Nutriely from the App Store or Google Play, answer a few questions to get your personal targets, and add your first food. Something simple like an apple is perfect. A short guide will show you what happens next.
Our app’s recommendation for carbohydrate intake refers specifically to glycemic (or available) carbohydrates — that is, total carbohydrates minus fiber.
Many health organizations suggest that carbohydrates should account for about 45–60% of total daily energy. These guidelines typically consider net carbohydrates (which include fiber).
So, to calculate the daily required amount of available carbohydrates, we subtract the energy provided by fiber from the total required carbohydrate energy. For this calculation, we assume 1 gram of fiber to provide approximately 2 kcal.
As long as it is useful to you. Most of the learning happens in the first few weeks: by then you know which nutrients you tend to miss and which foods fix that. After that, the knowledge is yours, and you can come back whenever your diet changes. We wrote more about it in How long should you track nutrition for.
